The Principles Of Yoga In Action

For Danica, yoga has always extended past the shala and into the community. Since she first discovered the philosophy beyond the mat, Danica realized yoga was more than just a series of poses. It was an approach to life that could create more compassion in her life and the lives of everyone around her. In fact, yoga was a way for Danica to care for herself and her community.

Today, she puts yogic philosophy into action by teaching yoga, meditation, mindfulness, somatic wellness, and more for local nonprofits, school districts and other public organizations. When a need presents itself, she creates customized programs for local students, youth, educators, first responders, and more.

Danica is the Co-founder of Greetings with Gratitude, a non-profit organization that’s been serving those in need since 2008. With help and donations from the wonderful communities, Greetings with Gratitude hosts fundraisers & events providing essentials to unsheltered individuals and families & those in need including backpacks filled with essentials and school supplies to local kids, including transitional foster youth.

Since 2018, Danica served as a volunteer instructor for the local shelter, Bridge to Home, where she taught mindfulness based classes and created special programs. She also served 12 years on the Board of Directors and Intern for The SCV Youth Project, a non-profit designed to provide free counseling, support groups, crisis intervention and community education to teens and their families.

No matter what project Danica is working on, there’s always an opportunity for you to get involved. If you would like to put the principles of yoga into action, please contact Danica or reach out to Danica by email: danica@danicalynch.com.
